Indicates the daily ultra-violet (UV) levels in Denmark and in many other countries. Shows UV levels at 3-hour intervals each day. Forecasts UV levels 5 days ahead. UV levels can be either for a favourite location (such as home), or, when moving about, through GPS. An alarm can be set to warn of high UV levels. Created as part of the ‘Sun Campaign’ of the Kræftens Bekæmpelse [Danish Cancer Society].

Review: “The ‘Sun Campaign’, in collaboration with the Sundhedsstyrelsen [Danish Health and Medicines Authority] and the Miljøstyrelsen [Environmental Protection Agency] has developed a smartphone app called ‘UV index’. In the app, you can view the current UV index for 20,000 different locations at home and abroad, and you can get automatic reminders when today’s UV index in your favourite city is 3 or more. … Since the UV index can vary greatly from east to west, one can (as something new) check the UV index at a specific location. You can either choose your favourite location (such as a place where you live), or use the built-in GPS. You can also get advice and sunscreen guidance, and get automatic UV warnings when the UV index is high. … The new UV app works both in Denmark and abroad.”
